Great last tournament that had an unfortunate/fortunate result, depending on the side you were on. Sean Parsons would have tied Todd Green for first place if Theegala would not have called his own penalty yesterday. Parsons, would have also won the tiebreaker over Green with his eighth golfer score beating Greens. But, that's why golf is the honest man/woman's sport. The event win also catapulted Todd Green to the overall Commissioner's Cup Trophy, so Congratulations to Todd Green, our 2024 Commissioner's Cup Champion. All standings have been updated and you check them out down below. Congrats to Scottie Scheffler as well for his incredible season and Championship! It has been a great season and I thank you all for playing and hope to see you all next year for the 3rd season of the Commissioner's Cup!
Welcome to the 2nd Annual Commissioner's Cup. This year will be a series of 10 tournaments/golf pools that will result with an end of the season champion. The first event will be the Masters April 11-14th. Just like our 4 major championship pools, the rules will remain the same and can still be found below under pool rules. For each golf tournament, your picks will be due the Wednesday night prior to the Thursday start of that tournament. The tiered golfers will be updated the week prior to the event to reflect the updated World Golf Rankings. At the end of the tournament, just like our other pools, we will have a pool winner. This is where things get serious! From the results of that pool, each person/entry will receive season points based on their finish. For instance, if you win the Masters, you will receive the maximum points for that tournament. That is determined by how many entries there were for the pool. If we have 50 entries, the winner will receive 50 Commissioner's Cup points. If you make the cut you will receive cup points, but if you do not make the cut for that tournament, you will receive zero points. Just like our final standings, I will use the tiebreaker rule to determine the top five for that pool. If you finish tied for 10th with 6 other people, you will all receive the same point total for that place finish. What is great about this is that if you miss a tournament or 2, you could still have a chance to win the cup! So, just to clarify, each tournament will be run the same as all of ours in the past and we will have a winner after each one. The only difference is that you will be accumulating points toward the Commissioner's Cup. The donation for each tournament will be $25 per entry. A portion of that donation will go toward the season Cup trophy and prizes! If you only wish to play the Major tournaments, you can still just play those and pay the regular $20 entry. If you are a person that enters multiple entries, you need to use the same names for each tournament. Your point totals need to match the same entry name throughout the season. Again, you don't have to enter all of the tournaments and can still only play the Majors if you want. No pressure!
